NEW YORK CITY MARATHON BUS

Note: We had to cancel the bus in 2021 since NYRR would not allow private charter buses to drop people off at the start and would not allow buses to park at the finish on Central Park West. We hope this will change for 2022 and we can provide the bus again.

The Essex Running Club is planning to provide a bus for the NYC Marathon again this year. It is scheduled to depart from Fleet Feet Sports (603 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair) at 5:30 am for runners and 9:00 am for spectators. The bus will take runners directly to the starting area on Staten Island and spectators to Columbus Circle near the finish in Central Park. Free parking is available on local streets but please do not park at the parking meters close to the store.

The bus is scheduled to return from New York City departing at 5:00 pm from Central Park West between 86th and 90th St. This time should accommodate the majority of runners but you should make alternate arrangements for the return trip if you ‘re not sure whether you will be back at the bus in time.

Note: We may need to adjust the above times once all the details for this year's marathon are available. We will notify you via email if there are any changes and we will send you another email with final instructions the week before the marathon.

Bagels, bananas, and water will be provided on the bus in the morning. Additional food and beverages will be provided after the race and on the way back to Montclair. There will be a bathroom on the bus and you will be able to leave your bag on the bus.

The cost is $30 for members of the Essex Running Club or their immediate family, $50 for non members and $20 for any children (18 and under) accompanied by an adult NO REFUNDS (unless the race is canceled)!.
